2024 Meeting Schedule

Sunday, March 3, 2024 - 1 to 4pm - online meeting (via Zoom)

African Violets belong to a large plant family called 'Gesneriads', and therefore, are related to many other plants. At our March virtual meeting, James Dean Parise, of the Toronto African Violet and Gesneriad Society and the Ottawa African Violet Society,  will give a presentation on Sinningias, with a focus on micro Sinningias, the smallest members of this related plant family.  The presentation will provide guidance on:

  • growing these tiny plants from seed to flower
  • lighting - LEDs; what brands work, what to avoid
  • pest control for Canadian growers

If you would like to attend the meeting as a guest, please send an email to: oavsociety@oavs.org , no later than Saturday, March 2. There is no cost to attend as a guest.   If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email.

We welcome new and existing members to attend our meetings, held on the first Sunday of the month, except on holidays.

The agenda of events of the Ottawa African Violet Society for our meetings may be subject to change.
